Digby Pines Golf Resort and Spa is delighted to announce the appointment of Scott Smith as its Purchasing Manager. With over 20 years of hospitality experience in the Restaurant and Hotel industry, Scott’s journey began in food and beverage where he was Regional Kitchen Manager for Bar Louie and Executive Chef at a DoubleTree Hotel. Scott also studied Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines.
Employed most recently with Walt Disney Company, Kissimmee, Florida, Scott was the Category Manager – Resorts Design & Construction. His procurement responsibilities included the areas of Design, Construction, Engineering Services, Telecommunications, Laundry Facilities, and Golf Courses. Managing a team of four Sourcing Specialists, Scott was responsible for competitive bidding and project controls for over 25 resort hotels. Scott has further procurement experience in the energy and communications sectors.
